Looking at 1964 f100

Hi Folks, I am looking at 64 F100. The truck looks in great condition. No rust. Desert truck. The previous owner put some aftermarket parts on it. According to his wife, Brand new Diesel engine and the rear end is unknow to me. My question is what engine is that and is the truck worth $8k?
Thank you

Looks like a GM A-arm front suspension grafted on, too. Depends on what you want. If you want heavily modified truck it might be worth something. If you are thinking about something a bit more original then it just becomes a matter of how fast you can run.

I don’t mind being modified as long as I know what engine it in the so I can finish it and drive that baby

It looks like a GM 6.2 diesel engine. Lots of work went into that truck, independent rear and front a arms. Heck, might be a GM frame. Lots and lots of work left. Notice the cab is sitting lower than the front clip. Engine partially apart, if you can call that an engine, wiring, body pieces not on. The cab may just be sitting on the frame, who knows.

That is a big big project, and too high of a price to buy a pig in a poke.

+1 on the 6.2ltr GM diesel. not enough power to get out of it's own way much less stay with traffic if you went through the pain of getting it to fire up.
