Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and looking forward to learning a lot. I'm a Ford guy through and through!
I currently own a 2007 F150 Supercrew FX4 and a 1977 F100 Ranger. The F100 has been sitting for about 10 years and I've just begun researching how to restore it. I look forward to working on it and this site will make a big difference as I learn what I'm doing.
My father-in-law gave me this truck about 10 or 12 years ago after I admired it for years. He hit a deer and gave up on it, but was nice enough to provide a new front grille and bumper. It's been dragged around the driveway as we needed to get it out of the way until I finally put it in storage a couple of years ago.
Now it's time for a new hobby. I don't have any experience with mechanics. I had it towed home, my daughter and pressure washed and scrubbed the outside, and that's where we are today. It's been between 95 and 100 degrees for a week or more (central NC) so I have only been able to look at it so far.
I plan to start with getting the brakes working. When it finally runs, I want to be able to stop! Then I'll work on the engine and cooling system. Suspension and steering. Then interior and bodywork.
I can't wait to get started. And I'm glad I found FTE.
