For the wide stainless steel trim you'll need to source a set of the trim and change the weatherstrip for the windshield.
There are three windshield weatherstrips. One for windshields without trim, one for windshields with wide trim and one for windshields with the narrow trim.
The trim you pictured is the wide stainless steel trim. That was used from '73 to mid-'77 then Ford switched to the narrow plastic trim. Either can be used on any dentside as long as you use the correct weatherstrip.
I definitely want the wide trim. What weatherstrip would I need? I haven't had a chance to search around for it. Trim sourcing is fairly easy enough.
Dennis Carpenter, LMC, Softseal, Mac's, Bronco Graveyard, etc all have the weatherstrip. Just order the weatherstrip for the wide moulding.

Excellent, that is what I was looking for. Thank you sir!
The precision brand gasket is the one that works but it's still a tough job to get it installed . my glass guy said don't call him if I ever want to do it again.

I've heard that from a few people. The wide s/s trim is a b!tch to install. Which is too bad. I've got that to look forward to on my own project. Personally I think the wide trim is the best looking of the three options. When I was having the bumper and other trim pieces rechromed, I had the trim polished and it looks so much better than the mill finish the pieces originally came with.

I just did a windshield with wide trim and yea, it was a challenge alright but once you figure out what works it wasn't too bad. If I ever do another it will take 1/2 the time and 1/8th of the profanity. .
Yes rubber is placed around perimeter of glass ,,,,,,ss trim has lower barbed base that mates into the opening in rubber,I think I did lower first ,alot of lube, than sides ,than top, tape as you go.Leave tape on while installing glass in vehicle with lube .......I had to cut tape when installing rope, around perimeter and re-tape ....Do not let rubber come off of glass.......once installed tape pulls threw......it was a very warm day which helps alot also a glass stand is a huge help
I believe this truck has the narrow plastic trim but has peeled off over the years, and just looks bad. I definitely want the wide trim.

Customs did not come with windshield reveal mouldings.
1977 F100/350: Ranger/Ranger XLT, 1978/79 Lariat came with a one piece flexible plastic chrome windshield reveal mounlding.
This moulding fits into a groove in the windshield weatherstrip, so it cannot "peel off."
Both the stainless and plastic chrome reveal mouldings have to be placed in the weatherstrip FIRST, then the weatherstrip is installed on the windshield.
Most glass shops in today's world do not know how to do this.
