So I just recently purchased my new to me F250. It has the keypad on the door but for the life of me I can’t find the code anywhere from every video I’ve seen on YouTube. I’ve looked everywhere, how else can I get the code. Unfortunately I also only have 1 key as well, so can’t use that method.
besides dealer what other options do I have ?
thanks in advance
Gilbert
Well, since you have only one key with another one floating around out there somewhere, you should just bite the bullet and go to your local dealer or a locksmith that has the proper tools to program one or two more keys to your vehicle because you’re going to need one anyway and afterwards, you’ll be able to retrieve the door code.
Depending on the dealership or locksmith, this is going to set you back $200-$400 dollars.
Im chasing down a B10F1 code and this thread came up. Is it possible that a weak fob battery is causing a dead batteries situation? Doesn't seem likely but with a fortune of copper wires in these rigs, I guess anything is possible.
The factory code may be great but seeing as it is a “new to me” truck I would expect that the previous owner would have changed it. I know that I changed mine the first week I had the truck.
While having spare keys is always useful Forscan is your most cost effective bet here I think.

The "factory" code will always be there, I've changed my code six times with out issue and the factory will work along with the current code.

FYI: Not sure how far back it goes, but on my new 2026 F350 as well as on my 2021 F150, you need to enter the "factory" code any time you want to add/change/erase your personal code using the Sync screen. Yes, both will work to unlock the vehicle, but without the factory code, you can't modify the other.
