i just got my 07 outlaw lariat. love it. one thing though i need to know how to program a code for the door. the keyless door i dont know the code and want to change it what do i do???
You should have gotten the code from the dealer. There is a factory code, and you can set a personal code. Check your manual for instructions. Good luck.
Just bought an 04 F250 and didn't have the code, asked the service dept at the local ford dealer and they hooked it up to the computer and gave me the code that was programmed and then reprogrammed new one myself, it tells you how in your manual.
According to my owners manual unfortunately, you need to know the original code.
1. enter the factory set code
2. within 5 seconds press 1-2 on the keypad.
3. enter your personal 5 digit code. each number must be entered within 5 seconds of each other.
4. the doors will again lock then unlock to confirm that your personal keycode has been programmed to the module.
TIPS
do not set a code that uses 5 of the same numbers.
do not use 5 numbers in sequential order
The factory set code will work even though you have set your own personal code.
If you set a second personal code it will erase the first personal code.
You may need to check with a dealer to see if they can get the factory code.
The code is printed on a sticker on the control module that is against the firewall just under your stereo.
If you have the drivers side glovebox you can pop it out and look in through there, otherwise you can remove the hook at the bottom of your dash and look through there also. You will have to pull back some of the insulation from the firewall to spot the control module.
On my 04, I had to pull the radio out and look through the hole. I had to pull back some insulation on the firewall and there was a computer module with a white lable/sticker with black numbers printed on it. There should be 5 numbers. I don't know if it's in the same place on the 07.
Have you called the dealer they should be able to get you the code, However I am overseas right now and cannot verify, but I am pretty sure you cannot erase the factory code only add your own personnal one. I know that both my personnal one and factory one still work on my 06 Lariat, and there was no info on getting rid of the factory code.
Pull the panel under the steering wheel off. Look up behind the radio there is some ins foam pull it back. There is the control mod. On it there is a white sticker the 5 LARGE numbers on it is your door code.
My friend bought an 04 the same weekend I took delivery of my 04 a few months ago. My friend did not get the card so I was trying to double check mine so I could tell him where the number was. I used the instructions everyone gave on this forum but had to modify it a little to see that box with the sticker.
I removed the big panel under the steering column and removed the trash bag hook panel on the passenger side of the dash. I put my hand thru the steering column panel side to push back the insulation/wires covering the box. I was only able to see it looking thru the trash bag panel hole. It worked for me. I also about wrenched my back seeing it.
The number matched the card the dealer gave me. Now if I can only make the dealer give me a second transmitter for the locks. . . . .
