Stock Header pipe 75 Highboy
the 42371 is a definite no. It hits the oil pan before the pipe touches the flange. On the 40516 it can't be installed from the bottom,
but I vaguely remember one of the Ford pickups had to be threaded down from the top. If I removed the exhaust manifold (passenger side)
it might slip into place. Then, I could hook the drivers side up temporarily with flex pipe and drive it to a custom bender/installer to get
a proper pipe made.
Does anyone think this sounds familiar. I remember this incident because I wasted a lot of time figuring out what I had to do and then
the flat rate manual finished me off. LOL
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It looks to me like there's adequate room for the Y forward of the big frame cross-member. The pipe can't be twisted or turned
in any way to push it past the cross-member from the back. That's what I'm trying to remember if it will go in from the front
with the manifold removed?
RE the connecting pipe there are no powers under heaven or earth that can make this one fit. I remember years ago that there
were high end exhaust shops that had benders that ran off a CAD program. They had the specs on thousands of car and truck
models and could bend a pipe and ship it to you.
