Ok guys here is my situation. I had to replace my DEF heater. There was something I needed to run to the parts store to get to finish the job but my wife had the car at school and I didnt have the car seats to take my boys so I figured I would change the oil and fuel filters while I waited for my wife to get home. Well I cycled the key a bunch of times to prime the fuel system and I got the "in 50 miles speed will be reduced to 50 mph" message. I didnt think anything of it because my whole DEF system was sitting on the floor so I figured that was normal. Well I got everything put back together and now I'm getting a P130E and P204E code. They wouldn't clear with forescan. Took it for a drive thinking the pump just needed some time to prime. That didnt work. So I started researching those codes and found out they are permanent codes that cant be reset with a code reader. Anyone know how to get those codes to reset? I read something about having to have a certain amount of drive cycles to reset the code after repairs were made. Anyone know how many that is? I've got to make a trip from Utah to Washington state next week so I need to get this taken care of asap.
Thanks Just Strokin, I think I'm just gonna pay the dealer to do it after I replace everything. The problem should be corrected but since I'm on the road a lot I figured I would just replace the pump and wiring harness as well for piece of mind. Once I've done that I'll have the dealer clear the codes. I tried it once and now I'm down to 11 miles to speed limiting.
