I hate to fire the parts cannon but I vote faulty IAC. Problem is the cheap ones don't work and the ones that work ain't cheap.

I'm leaning toward the throttle body. He stated the top of the throttle linkage was bent down when he got the truck. It would take some force to do that, maybe even a frustrated owner with a hammer. Could have bent the throttle shaft. As easy as the throttle body is to take off, it's worth a few minutes to check it out for bent shaft, worn bushings, sucked in gasket, carbon build up, ect...

I didn't say anything about linkage being bent.

I thought the swivel linkage was bent on your throttle body....I guess that was someone else. I get threads crossed sometimes..Sorry. Not a bad idea to check the TB anyway. It's one of the easier things to do. The bushings could be worn letting air by.
