I have a piece of sheet metal cut to the size of the gasket sandwiched between my EGR and manifold. Been like that for at least 15 years. I have no idea what kind of codes I have. As long as the truck is running to suit me I don't check, but with the way I have my engine set up, I would suspect a few.
Black electrical tape carefully placed can eliminate those pesky anti-lock lights..lol

I'm leaning toward the throttle body. He stated the top of the throttle linkage was bent down when he got the truck. It would take some force to do that, maybe even a frustrated owner with a hammer. Could have bent the throttle shaft. As easy as the throttle body is to take off, it's worth a few minutes to check it out for bent shaft, worn bushings, sucked in gasket, carbon build up, ect...

I thought the swivel linkage was bent on your throttle body....I guess that was someone else. I get threads crossed sometimes..Sorry. Not a bad idea to check the TB anyway. It's one of the easier things to do. The bushings could be worn letting air by.
