Last year I had to replace one of my hubs on my 2012 and ended up going with a Ford hub. This year my other hub needed extra incentive to go from free to lock. I ended up buying a set of Warn hubs at NAPA which actually after the AAA discount ended up being cheaper then anything I could find online, and I was able to pick them up the same day vice waiting for them to be shipped.
I've never tried it but old school was to dip even new ones in ATF before installation. Likewise I'd think an old one might be brought back to life by an overnight treatment in an ATF spa bath.... assuming it's just difficult or slow to operate.
When my OE hubs wouldn't turn I sprayed with WD and used pliers and rocked back and forth. Took a little time but now they work fine with out pliers. Both trucks are 2005,6 F350's.

How do you guys like the Warn hubs? I just saw yesterday that they make them for the Super Dutys now. My hubs are hard to turn also. I just use the auto feature as I'm not in 4wd a ton. I'm gonna pull them out in the spring and relube them. Or go with the Warns. I'll see.
I put Warn Premium hubs on my 2006 F350 a year or so after they became available- maybe 2012 or so. Used it mainly as a plow truck in salt country; got rid of it last year but the Warns still turned silky smooth.
