No, I don't know the wiring well enough to have any suggestions.
Are you pressing and releasing the brake pedal during the self test?
The 625 code is a big deal. THat means the PCM cannot control the transmission pressures. Low current means an open circuit. Usually that is a wiring harness problem.
I removed the ECM, found 3 badly corroded capacitors, and replaced them. I also replaced the brake on/off switch, as an inexpensive try at fixing the brake lights. Here are the new codes:
KOEO test:
625 - (O, M) Solenoid/circuit failure – Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) current is low – Transmissions
633 - (O) 4x4L switch should be in 4×2 or 4×4 high for the test
KOER test:
536 - Brake on/off (BOO) switch not activated during self test
Only the 538 code - (Operating error during self test. Air Conditioning switched on) has changed, and not reappeared.
The brake lights are still not working, and the left front turn signal operates continuously, and the turn signals can not even be engaged, it just slips out of position. I have to disconnect the battery to turn of the turn signal (new ts flasher tried, too) Very strange. Do you have any idea where I should start looking for a wiring harness problem?
Thanks,
Harry
Mark he has had the 625 code the last two test. I'm wondering if it may be in memory and not active.
Yes Mark, brake pedal is being pressed, but since the brake lights aren't working, the EEC test may not be receiving that info. Thanks for your help, Harry

He had the PCM out of the truck which will clear any code.

I am currently dealing with some similar issues. I recently bought a '92 f250 2wd w/5.8 and e4od trans. This is my first OBS so this has been a fun experience so far. The turn signals haven't worked since I bought it and the trans shifts hard but works. I had an intermittent RABS and CEL but never the OD light blink. I changed the VSS(not a Motorcraft #, Autozone version) first, no results. I learned how to pull the codes and got the 625 and 452. Looked at all the fuses and connections, no blown fuses and nothing obvious on the connections, cleaned, greased and replaced. no result. I ordered the solenoid block for the trans. When it came in I dropped the pan, installed along with new fluid and filter(drained the TC too, 16 quarts total). The old fluid didn't look bad and the pan was clean, the magnet only had a very light layer of fine "dust" on it. The day before the part came in it started to try and die out when coming to a stop, almost like the TC wouldn't unlock. After the trans service, then when I put it in D, it won't upshift on its own. when I take off in 1 and manually shift to 2 its fine, but when I manually shift to D it starts to slip and doesn't feel like it is trying to go in 3. pushing the OD button does nothing but the light will go on or off. Now I am getting a 452(VSS) and a 536(brake On/Off switch). I am pressing the brake for the test. I do not have the 3rd brake light, but my brake lights do work. I also ordered a multi function switch for the turn signals. My hazards, Wshield wipers, High beams all worked and when I took the wires out of the plug individually and jumpered I could make each blinker work depending on which wires I was touching together. so I figured it was the switch. Installed that, and still no turn signals, but I think someone previously has fooled around with the plug because the wires all come out of the plug easily. I ran out of time before I could get it sorted so I had to leave it how it was and go back offshore for work. Now that I am out here I have done some digging on here(and everywhere) and found that one of the wires going into that multifunction switch is in fact a brake on/off wire(lt grn) and quite possibly the wires have been installed back into the plug wrong. I now have a correct diagram of the plug and which wire goes where. Hopefully this will fix my problem, or at least some of it. I do suspect there may be an issue with the PSOM as well. The LCD display is lit but unreadable, so I am thinking about replacing it anyway. Only other thing it could be would be the MLPS switch maybe. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
jhall1972 welcome to FTE!
I suggest to start a new thread, about your issue, so people dont get confused,
at the top of this page click the yellow new thread block, and then you could copy/paste what you have here, so you dont re-type it all
trans shift prob ....my 96 f150 with e4od and i are not getting along ,when my speedo hits 80 km or 50 mph it starts to jump up and down and the trans will act up slamming ,jumping in and out etc ,if i pull over shut the truck off for a minuete ,start it again it will drive and shift perfect until it gets back spped again ,if you satay below it will work fine like 40 mph ,changed the sensor in the rear axle ,fluid and screen ,the shift control module inside ,etc it was worse semed to change back to working below 50mph after playing with wiring but cant be sure .just about ready to sell it ....any ideas anybody
As you found out just randomly changing parts is a waste of time and money. Get the codes read and then we can offer useful advice. All I can do with what you have now is to tell you to keep changing parts until you have an all new truck.
