Again... find new dealers... Even if that was Fords policy. I cant imagine a dealership intentionally inconveniencing their customers over a recall.
Then they cant understand why so many people will never bring a vehicle to a dealer for anything other than warranty work... if they have no choice.
My 2019 Superduty is the first Ford I owned since 1995 due to how they handled warranty issues I had... Or I should say didnt handle. So far my dealer has been great but that 1995 F-150 was purchased at this same dealership. Thats almost 25 years they lost me as a customer.
I owned a Searay which was totaled by hurricane Sandy. It was a 26 foot Sundancer. A very nice boat but kind of a minivan on the water. I replaced it with a Sailfish 29 center console. Way more seaworthy. Kind of an F-250 4x4 on the water compared to the minivan... Searay was the best when it came to warranty... Sailfish...... not so much. I love the Sailfish. Its a far better boat on the water. And really the warranty issues were minor cosmetic type problems. But they just ignored me. So I can only imagine what they would do if I had a costly issue. Same dealership for both boats.
I would consider another Searay if they had a boat of the type I was shopping...
I doubt theres any chance I would consider another Sailfish.. And I like the boat more.
Its 100% over the warranty response.
Im loving my Lariat. Not having any problems. A little bump steer. Its everything I expected I was buying in a 3/4 ton solid axle 4X4.
But if I get screwed around over warranty issues Ford will lose me forever.
My wife has been an Infinity driver..( we lease her cars) for 4 vehicles in a row. They have been great with service, warranty, or any issue imaginable. Of which there have been very few. But its starting to look like they arent really going to have anything we want to spend our money on this next lease. Lots of 4 cylinder engines. or higher cost for what we are interested in than we are willing to pay. And Im hoping something changes before we end up going to a different dealership because I feel a sense of loyalty to them based on how we have been treated by them.
All little things Im definitely making a big deal out of. And the more car prices climb the harder I will be to please.
I really hate the entire dealership experience. Thats why I end up keeping things until I either hate them or they are going to pieces.
just call your dealer, give them your VIN# & have them order the parts & call you when they come in. I did this & took my truck in & waited on it. Took 2 hours for 2 recalls.

I stopped by the dealership this past week to schedule some recall work. The service advisor said they could do them all the same day if I wanted, I asked if they had all the parts to do that, he said yes. I also asked if they have done a bunch, he jokingly replied, "that's all we do are recalls".

I have 3 recalls including this tailgate one. I decided to only have the other 2 done, mostly because they are fast fixes, and my tailgate has never opened on its own.

I got lucky, I guess. I'm 4 weeks into a 10 week snow bird trip. Pulled in to Mullinax Ford in New Smyrna Beach, Fl, asked for an oil change and all 3 recalls; completed and out of there in 2 hours...

He told me they are not allowed to keep the inventory for the warranty work - like they did last fall.

That was 2 weeks ago. I'm still waiting to hear from the dealer to see if the part has arrived.
My tailgate hasn't demonstrated the problem, yet; However, with the minimal clearance of my 5th Wheel trailer - if it opened it wouldn't be pretty.
I was told the same thing, except they let me do it on the phone. Parts have been on order since first week of Jan, still waiting.

You did get lucky. I scheduled a week ago to have the 2 fastest recalls done, lights and carpet. I picked those 2 thinking I would have my truck back in 1, maybe 2 hours tops and be off to work. 3.5hrs later, it's still not done. I was there first thing in the morning like they suggested. Has me worried, did something happen to the truck, are they doing the tailgate recall even though I specifically said not to.

..4.5hrs later, its done. I was expecting all my Forscan changes to be reset after the LED recall, I haven't checked them all, but my DPF% screen is still there, and the numbers above gauges.
