latest sync update file extraction issue

Bumping this old thread... Apparently Ford does pay attention to this forum
Today I checked to see if there was an update available for Sync 3.0 - there is a new (to me) rev available v3.0.20204. (I was informed this has been out since 2020).
I remembered last time I did this process, it was a bit convoluted and the Ford site instructions were poor at best. I posted some instructions earlier in the thread to help others.
Well, Ford must be paying attention to this forum. Not only did they update their instructions (see here: https://help.ford.com/update-sync/usb/) but they also used my screenshot from post #13.
File timestamps are identical, they just removed the lined-out file. Guess I should be flattered?
