Question Boost #s?

I’m not sure if my gauge is wrong or what. But I cannot get anything over 12psi boost ever from stock - 140hp tune on our truck. Just wondering if that’s normal or or my turbo is just old? Maybe my gauge doesn’t read correct (off map sensor plug) , or maybe I have a boost leak.

I see 2-8 psi highway and like 12 max. I never have went WOT, I’m scared that the E4OD will poop out on me as it seems to me to not rev out enough before shifting

Thumbs up

Why not lock OD out and rev it out to 3400rpm or whatever and see what you make?

Stock tune with my 1.0 A/R turbine and I guess stock injectors, I see about 15-16psi and about 2550psi on the HPOP. Tow mode does around 19-20psi and about 2850psi. Boost threshold for both tunes is about 1300psi for my setup. Both of those are unloaded. I have not checked my hot street mode for boost with my fresh HPOP, but that holds around 3000psi easily now and I have one of those boost pop off things. Unsure if the OE MAP can handle that much pressure and would prefer not to have it die.

I have no exhaust leaks. Plenums resealed. Same boots as you.

Do not worry about the E4OD, just go by Captain Ron's advice -

Hahahahahahha. Okay. Well if I rev it out I’m nervous she’ll blow lol. Was a grandpa truck when I bought it. Don’t think it’s ever been over 2500. Plus I don’t run it past 2500 myself either hardly ever I’d say

15 psi. 80% throttle. 2500 rpm. Not bad I guess. I’m just used to driving manuals. First auto 7.3 I’ve had

What?? You can't get any boost revving it! Put a load on it and go out and hammer it, then you'll know what boost it will put out.

The E40D is not bad of a tranny at all ask me how I know. To keep it alive add a big transmission cooler, and a triple disc low stall torque converter this should help your trans last for a while.
