I had to special order the 40/20/40 on the lariat My truck does have heated and cooled seats so you can get those with the heated cooled seats, and I am pretty sure you can get the heated back seat also.
I have 4 kids so the 6 seater is necessary, The console looks nice but I have plenty of room in the seat back and the under seat storage is nice too. oh and you can probably get a small cooler in front of it. for utility even if I didn't have 4 kids I would still want the console.
that was one of the things that required me to special order my truck, its super hard to find a lariat without the console. I am glad I did though i got exactly the options I wanted to pay for. And the dealer gave me a great deal right out of the gate.
strike that, you cannot get the heated rear bench without the console for some reason, the front seats can still be heated and ventilated.
I think it's because the buttons for the heated rear seats are on the same portion of the rear console as the rear air vents, that aren't there when you get a center seat
The Ford build site it allowed me to combine the 40/20/40 and the power running boards. Dealer called me to say sorry, PRB only with console.
Decision made! Power running boards required, non-negotiable. Tremor running boards way too high for my fat butt. Cost me more too, as I had to get the console safe and the heated rear seats. Heated rear seats in Southern California?
Thanks everyone for all the input. It was really the last big dilemma to figure the final build. Maybe ESP? Dave
If asking for opinions on resale I think it would hurt not having the console.
i absolutely wouldn’t even consider a truck with that, and even if it was stuffed with 100 dollar bills I’d be none the wiser as I would keep walking when I looked in the window.
And I wouldn’t buy one with that waste of space console. That’s the point. If there are people who need it now, there will be people needing it in the future. Besides, when buying a used truck, you have to be much more flexible on the options, either way.
I have an STX and I purchased a black thin neoprene cover for the seat "console". Keeps my sweaty arm from ruining the OEM fabric. I got it off Amazon from Carconsolecovers.com. Here's an example of one of their covers.
