Sorry to unearth this post but on my truck the chime is missing, ther's only the wiring and plug in the glove box. It's a 7 prongs chime. My question is: are all models with 7 prongs compatible? I've found on Ebay some chimes , some are expensive and other less expensive... Found a SW-1988 (E6DZ-10B924 B) on the box, for a '86 Taurus, On the black housing E6DB-10B924 BA at correct price. I've found also chimes for post 87 models, exemple https://tinyurl.com/y858oqnt or https://tinyurl.com/ycyto76c

Or what are the chime numbers compatible for my truck ? Looks like number must ended by 10D840

(sorry just seen that i'm in the wrong forum about year ...)

I have a chime from a '96 on Ebay right now.

I sold one before to a guy with an '86, and he said it caused his truck not to start... so I found him one from an '86 to replace it (because I'm nice like that).

So I don't think all the 7-prong modules are compatible, I know they are for the '92-'96 trucks though.

Man, way to awaken an old thread! Have you tried unplugging the module?
