My 5th wheel is about 12K unloaded and as much as 16K loaded according to the trailer paper work. I am planing a cross county this summer and it would be nice not to have to worry about EGT's all the time. I have no leaks in my intake. But the stock turbo with 1.0 exhaust side and a WW. I believe the other guy said RR 4x4 wheel.
Thanks for your response a head of time. Chet. Oh I still have the stock injectors also. The Brad asked me once to try this, I just wasn't sold on the idea yet. I would also like to go to 160/80 some day, down from what I really wanted of 200/80. I'm running DP's tuning. I use his 60 tow most of the time. I like the exhaust brake. It don't
seem to work as good as it did before my trans went out, the new one has a double dis set up. Not sure I like that.
I tow heavy everyday with my truck and was also getting high egts . I put in s&b intake, sp turbo rebuild 5x5 kit and a 4 inch turbo back exhaust with aero muffler and that combo helped me out tremendously. I also run dp tunes, mostly 80hp tow.

Yes, both wheels are a balanced assembly from KC. It is surprisingly quiet. I need to get a report after they’ve pulled their big 5ver across the country. Their initial reaction was ‘OMG, soooo much power’. They were not struggling with EGT with stock injectors and turbo in tow tunes.

I had EGT issues with 175/146’s and 38R once upon a time. It was drive-by-pyro in the mountains - until I upgraded from dp toons...

I stopped using cruse control on the freeways because every once in a while you come see your egt's going way to high on even what appeared to be flat road. I'm sure it wasn't, but it wasn't anything that would make you really watch either. I just don't want the screaming turbo while cruising down the road. I think you said you have jelic? Is that the correct spelling? Let me know, I might have to do both. Like to get set up before this summer.

Ive used tunes from several people now and they are ALL better. It’s been a long time, but my impression is the tuning style at dp has not changed.

With stock or Stage 1 injectors there is just no excuse for high EGT. I literally could not get over 1250* in my Excursion with stock injectors and van turbo (BTS transmission). I could tow HEAVY in my hottest tune (‘100HP’ - dynoed 324 HP) and the only issue was frightening MPG.

on edit: currently running Gearhead tunes in my dually.
