vehicle security/remote start
vehicle security/remote start
I have a 2009 f150. There is a wire harness, P/N 2W7J-19A205-AA wired into the vehicle harnesses. Looks like a professional job. There is a momentary push button switch with a light screwed to the dash near the steering. Push button apparently does nothing and the light never comes on.
The wire harness terminates to a wide plug under the dash on drivers side. There is not module plugged into the harness but there is what appears to be small dummy/bypass plugs that are installed into the harness plug and zip tied.
I assume that the dealer installed the harness and sold options for security and/or remote start systems. I also assume the original owner opted out of these devices and the dealership installed bypass plugs so the vehicle would function normally.
I've seen several security and start devices that utilize this harness but I am not certain compatibility.
Assuming the harness is wired correctly, is there a security/remote start module that could easily be installed into the harness?
If so, would I need another remote or is there a module that would react to a phone app?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Welcome to FTE. Can't really help you , but I will suggest that you try posting your question in the section covering 09 trucks. More action up there and more folks familiar with those trucks. I would guess that you'll end up at a dealer, but I really don't know that.
Good Luck,
