I am trying to ID this distributor. As far as I know it came out of a 1974 E100 Econoline van with a 240 3.9L motor.
Only see three cast numbers on the body. It is an Autolite unit with 12127, to right A11, below 6AB. I can not read the numbers to the left of the 12127.
Can't help with part numbers. I just googled the 12127 and was coming up with FE distributors. Can you post a pic of what you have. That should help clarify. Does it have a cap on it?
The 12127 is Fords indicator for "distributor". Yes it takes the same small black cap that is on my 1971 F250 300 4.9L motor. All the bottom of the distributor is the same as my 300 unit (gear, length, oil pump shaft), difference is the Adjustable Single Vacuum Advance and the advance plate in the top of the distributor. I will post some pictures on Thursday for you to look at.
A couple pictures of the main body distributor shot & one of the inside top movable vacuum advance plate with the original single vacuum advance connected.
Tedster9 -- Ya I just put back the parts to take some pictures, plate was not on top pin when I took it apart. Picture is with the spare cap from my 1971 300 4.9L inline 6.
