First let me say that this site has been a great resource. Normally I can find what I need by searching but I actually need some input from this community. I bought a 2000 f350 CC LB DRW about half a year ago. All has been good but I started getting SES for Baro sensor high output. It was intermittent. The first couple times it came on and went away on its own. Not to be seen again. Well, last week it flashed on and in a few miles was off again. Then it started staying on. I would clear the code and it would come back. Sometimes the SES light goes away and other times it does not. So I have a few questions:
1: Since the barometric pressure sensor is in the PCM is the only fix to replace the PCM?
2: When I get the code I also get the code for EBP sensor. Is there a link between the baro and the EBP sensor?
3: What is the likelihood of replacing EBP sensor and tube fixing the Baro sensor problem?
4: If the two are not related, what PCMs can I use and where is the best place to get one?
I greatly appreciate any advice or insights anyone can offer.
My thoughts, the ebp code is possibly being triggered due to the baro reading being high? The pcm "thinks" something is wrong because the difference between baro & ebp isn't within the set parameters. Can you log the sensor readings?
What are you using for codes?
Forgot to mention that the truck has an edge evolution tuner that was installed when I bought it. That is how I am getting the codes. I don't know how to log the sensor readings. I had an ebp sensor and tube at the house because I figured it wouldn't hurt to change it out. The sensor was very clogged when I took it off so I changed both out today. I drove around for about 15 minutes. No codes were thrown but it wasn't a long ride. I that fixes it up but I guess I will know in a couple days.
I have a pcm that was taken off a 99 f250 at the scrap yard. I got it "just in case" a couple months ago. Will any 7.3 f series pcm work? Do I have to get it flashed?
