Two codes: P0472 and P2287

My truck has been acting up recently, Its been revving up and down about 200 rpms either way or so. The P0472 code from what ive been reading on the forum is for the EBP sensor and P2287 is for the ICP sensor. I had the ICP sensor and pigtail replaced around 60 thousand miles ago but i think its acting up again. The EBP sensor is also newer, it has about 40 to 45 thousand on it.
If anyone could chime in to help me narrow down whats causing my problem it would be much appreciated thanks.

Damn sensors

Maybe 05s are prone to ICP problems or im just prone to them, At least sensors are some what cheap

Blade your right about that, I have an extra ebp sensor laying around somewhere so ill switch it out and see if that fixes that code

Look the wiring over very carefully - sounds like chaffing or pinched harness, etc.

Where should I look near the sensors themselves? Or are there chaffing spots where someone would not typically look?

Looking the DTC Up Im with Mark on the ICP & EBP Sensor being shorted
Pretty shure they are in the same wire harness Bundle

Might have to unwrap the wire harness from the sensors to the PCM to Inspect

But Both are Electrical problems and being that you have 2 Electrical DTC on sensors that share the same wire Loom it just about got to be a wire chaff or short and the ICP & EBP sensors are Both Likely GOOD

Thanks for all the info very helpful!
Chasing down this short sounds like its going to be a nightmare

You said that the ICP plug was replaced. I would start looking at the splice
and then go on to the EBP.
Mark or Benny, I have this cool tool for locating faults in wiring but what
I am not sure of is if it would hurt a computer or not. How many computers
are on board our trucks and would they be easy to unplug ? The tool
is called a TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer)
I know this won't help Lakewood right now But the TDR can tell you
how far up a given wire there is problems. It will work in inches, feet and 100s of feet.

unplug them one at a time and see what happens.
if the concern goes away with the ebp unpluged you may have a bad vgt or vgt connector. a bad vgt has a small possibility to set ebp codes.

sean there a few. the key here woudl be knowing what else is on the circuit so you know what to unplug.

Ok ill go try that now, How do i go about looking for an open wire? Theres only a couple inches i can see easily until it goes into the main harness or gets buried underneath something

ohm them out. but if you just unplu it and the concern goes away you would know. also a p2285 dtc would be a clue

I havent had any time to dig deeper into the wiring, and it hasnt been my priority to fix it either because it only does it in reverse occasionally. In the past few days when the truck is cold and running in park i can hear a slight miss, when its warm it goes away, could this be tied in with the sensors? Or maybe an injector now?

I played around with my tuner and changed the idle speed from 700 to 725. It made a big difference in the shudder i've been having. Instead of dropping 200 rpms and sounding like its only running on four cylinders it only drops 50 rpms and is a lot less noticable.

I havent had time or the ability with school to look for bad wires that could be causing the problem. Im done with school tomorrow and i'll be back and able to work on the truck easier at home. Should I still be looking for a wiring problem?
