Well the truck made it. I went from Temecula Ca to Quartsite AZ towing the trailer in the pic. We only were able to go up the big grades at 35 but the rest was smooth sailing. climbing the trans temp started to climb and got just into the 200 range so I wasn't worried. I thinking about getting the trans cooler off a 6.0 and replacing it with the three I have. I'm worried towing in summer will be an issue when its not 50 degrees outside blowing on the truck. Any thoughts on this?
Has anyone switched to electric fans any recommendations?
Also I am running 37 inch tires on the 5 inch lift with 5.13 gears front and low. I noticed at 55 the truck is barely pulling 2000 rpms and is rather sluggish, when I get into the 60mph range it is around 2400 and the truck is running great. Is there anything i can do to change this without changing the ring and pinion to 5.33, I don't really want to go that low.
Thanks for all the info on here, you guys have been great.
you could go back down to 35” or smaller tires, that’s the only other option

The best cooling system is to use the cooler in the radiator and a 6.0L cooler.

If you switch from a mechanical fan to electric fans you will not make it up that grade without overheating. Electric fans cannot move as much air as the mechanical fan.

You could shift down a gear. You could change to smaller tires. If you change from 5.13:1 to 5.33:1 instead of running 2000 RPM you will be at 2077 RPM. To change the RPM from 2000 to 2400 at 55 MPH you will need a 6.16:1 ratio in the axles.

Perfect thank you that is my next upgrade.

I had elec fans on my F350 for a few yrs. Worked fine for anything except towing on grades. Like mentioned above, not enough air. I went back to the stock fan on the F350,and the elec fans went on the F150.
I switched to electric cooling fans from a ford windstar (dual setup) on my F250.I could tow ok with it but the temps would rise really fast in the summer when taking off and driving slow.To see what was happening,I jumped out and took some measurements with a point and shoot thermostat gun.It was obvious the oil temps were spiking, causing the heat to translate to the coolant.I installed a nice big oil cooler and them electric cooling fans hardly have to do anything now. This is with the 7.3l IDI diesel engine, not a 460.
Keep in mind, after like 35-40mph your engine cooling fan is more in the way of the airflow through the grill than it aids in cooling.Cooling fans are primarily for idling and slower speeds.
Before you try installing a larger aux trans cooler. You might try removing all of them save for the larger one and make sure it's installed after the radiator. You might find, she runs much cooler and your problem is too many small trans coolers, hindering fluid flow.
