Does anyone know if there is something up with trying to produce the F350's first over the F250's? There were three trucks "special ordered" (not dealer stock) at my dealer. The other two were ordered three weeks after mine, given VIN #'s the same time (because the last five of order is sequential with mine in between the other two) and the other two have been built and in transit, where mine is not to be built until the week of 01-27-20. One of the trucks and mine are almost identical (Lariats loaded). Was given the song and dance by the dealer that was because of the Thanksgiving and Christmas times that is probably why pushed out. Now I know different.
I admit I have no idea how ordering works. I ordered for the first time a week ago. However I work in a production environment. I would bet they do similar products in a "run". LIke a ton of Oxford Whites, F350's, F250's and etc. Maybe thats why. When those other two trucks ordered maybe the factory was on a run of F350's. Look on the bright side, just gives you longer to hope for better incentives to come out and save mo re money.

No, Ford GM, and FCA have a 'blend' system, that determines the order builds are done in. They rarely run two of the same color/trim level in a row. In fact, on lines where they have mixed product (Ford and Lincoln on the same line) they have agreements with the union on how many of the higher level(more labor intensive) modules they can run in a given span of vehicles (only 3 out of every 10 for example).

What engine do the two ordered after your have? You signature says you ordered the 7.3. That is a new line (they gutted the plant ant brought in all new equipment) and I would expect it is still in a ramp up phase, and would be a major contributor to your order slipping.

That's the best theory I've seen as to why the 7.3 option has been so tardy arriving at dealers compared to other engines... makes sense to me.
It's that 7.3 IMO. I haven't seen any hit dealers in my area but there are plenty of 6.2 and 6.7. Of all the special orders they are all 6.7 or a 7.3 in Tremor. I ordered an F350 7.3 on 9/25. Still don't have a build date. I'm guessing February delivery in CA. I don't mind but I got a PCO that either needs to get locked in or I loose it.

The other two ordered were F-350's, an XL with a 6.7 and the Lariat with a 7.3. I think when scheduling to week, the regional reps did the F-350's first and then when scheduling my F-250, probably pushed out due to commodity, plant time and/or allocation. Just stinks that they probably went in that type of order instead of which one ordered first.
Edited: reread ice-capades thread on Blue Oval Forums. I was thinking that they got ordered as SuperDuties vice F-350 and F-250 lines seperate.

Just not sure why mine got pushed out so far. Looks like they wanted to get the F350's and work trucks first. Mine was built yesterday and today's status is "Sent to Body Company". Getting bedliner sprayed in and should be shipped within a couple of days.
