I just ordered my new F350KR through a dealer in Denver...and I live in Orlando. Before you ask, this dealer is knocking off $7k from MSRP plus incentives at time of delivery. Also the dealers in Florida can't order yet as the 08 inventory is still to high here...or at least that is what 3 dealerships gave me as an excuse. To tell you the truth they are way greasy around central florida.
Anyway, I ordered the truck as I said and received the shortened VIN for the truck on my dora. It is November 5th now. My dora says a JOB 2 BUILD inside the options list. I have read that job 1 svo's (special vehicle orders) ended October 31st.
Does anyone have inside information as to when JOB 2 BUILD begins it's run?
I know the plant is scaling back on shifts, according to cnbc. Also they take a break from svo's for fleet production and the holidays coming up. I am hoping someone might come on here that actually has affiliation directly with the factory.
I am interested too in touring the louisville plant the day my truck is produced. I'd like to be there to see it born!
'09 Job 2 is currently scheduled for the beginning of February '09. This will be after a 6-7 week shutdown to retool KTP to add the Expedition/Navigator to the line...
Does your DORA list a dealer number and order number that you can provide?
Your order (placed on 10/30) is in the order bank and is unscheduled. If the truck is a Job 2 as your DORA states, I would not expect to see any further activity until after the first of the year. Job 2 scheduling is slated to begin sometime in January. It will be issued its full VIN once it is scheduled. My best guess at this point is your dealer should see the truck sometime the end of February or beginning of March...
Did you happen to order the factory spray in bedliner?
BTW... KTP does not offer general public tours anymore. I believe that was stopped after 9/11...
I did not do the spray in bedliner as I have a linex done for $325. I did not opt for the KR chrome package as I prefer the painted mirrors wrapped with invisishield. I did put everything else on it:
F350KR SRW DSL WHITE
Lariat Ultimate Package
*Rear Cam
*Reverse Vehicle Aid
*Tailgate Step
*Nav and Sat
*Garage Door Remote
4x4 off road
Stabilizer Package
Dual Alts
Traction Control (This is to be a standard feature for 2010)
Cab Lights
Rapid Heater
Moonroof
Uplifter Switches
Remote Start
Mud Flaps
Bug Shield
Bed Extender
The dealer will have the 3M invisishield, ARE tonneau, and the bedliner done for a total out the door price of $55,000 minus rebates and incentives.

The reason I asked about the bedliner is Ford is having issues with them and is pushing all orders with them off to Job 2. Linex in my opinion is a much better option with a better warranty. My guess at this point is the mud flaps, bug shield, or remote start is why it was pushed to Job 2. It could be any one of or all 3 that did it. The remote start is the least likely one.
FYI... They should be scheduling Job 1 trucks for another week or 2 and Job 2 ordering has not officially begun. This is why I was trying to figure out which option caused it to be bumped. If it were not for that, you probably would have your truck by the end of December...
No I am paying 7500 off sticker plus whatever the rebate is at time of delivery. If you want a deal on an 09 call Tom Solomon at 303-933-5642. I found him through a blog of someone who ordered a truck and decided to give him a shot. Who knows, hopefully new rebates will jump up too??? As bad as Ford is doing on sales maybe they'll push $7,000 off to keep the trucks rolling. Currently even the new ones have a $3,000 rebate.
