I have a 2911 F 250 4x4 xl with the 6.2 L gas engine. When driving the truck if I hit a bump on the dirt roads it sounds like the bed of the truck on the drivers side is loose. I have replaced the shocks on the truck and it still makes the same sound. I have also been unde the truck with a pry bar and all seems to be tight. I can not find anything loose. Any suggestions as to what it might be?
Thank you for the suggestion. I did in-fact tried that a couple days ago and could not find anything. It is strange that when I had old shocks on it started making the noise. I replaced the shocks and the sound continues, I will keep looking. Thanks again.
Check your body mount bushings. Being a 2011, I'd put money on it that they are shot. Just changed mine on my '12 F250. These are the bushings between the cab and frame. If you have a Crew Cab, there will be 8 of them (4 on each side). The bed bolts straight to the frame and, unless you are missing bed bolts, it won't be the bed making noise like that.
Does it have or has it had in the past a fifth wheel hitch or a gooseneck in the bed? My 06 350 has a gooseneck and whoever installed it for previous owner reused a couple bed bolts, left one out, and used a couple new bolts. Bed moved around and made noise sometimes. Also is it a clunk, or a rattle, depending on the noise you can kinda know what places to look. If it's a clunk, it's usually a bushing, probably sway bar. If it's a rattle usually it's sway bar links or maybe the box side braces on the fender.
Do you drive with a hitch in the receiver? Had one that was making clunk and did same as you, searched and searched until realized it was the hitch clunking over bumps. removed and went away
Yes I do drive with a hitch in receiver and took it out same noise without hitch. You guys have given me a ton of information and it is greatly appreciated very much. I will check everything you guys ha e suggested when I get back home.

Had the same problem recently. It was the metal cups that hold the upper bushing making contact with the frame. Did mine myself with polyurethane bushings. Problem solved.

BINGO and it's that time given age -- the crappy Moto bushings are PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE / PLANNED FAIL before a decade..........go with aftermarket (Energy Susp, Daystar, etc).............
I will have to do that and see because I am at a loss. Thanks.
