Ok, I understand about the K&N. Now can we please get to the knocking?
Personally, I stay away from conditioners. they seem to hurt more than help. If it's an injector, is there a way to tell for sure? Do I need to Drain fuel, replace with new, add conditioner,???
If you understood the posts about the K&N but want to move on, then you are not paying attention to the multiple message. If it’s knocking, it could be a lot of things, but nothing good and possibly critical. Your worst fear is a bearing, which could be attributed directly to a K&N allowing in copious amounts of grit. Constant cleaning of that filter makes bad even worse..

First, the air filter is not the cause of the knocking and replacing it will not address that issue. Could it be an injector? Maybe. But it could also be a rock of kryptonite that found its way into your oil pan. Maybe something between those two things. The only way to know what's causing this is a diagnostic. And nobody here can diagnose your problem over the distance of the Internet. Sorry, but that's a reality when it comes to these things. A mechanic will listen to the knock to try to understand where in the engine it's occurring and its characteristics, like is it a single or double knock, light or heavy, and what frequency relative to engine rpm? Is the knock more pronounced under load and does it go away on coast? If he kills a cylinder, does it go away? Knocks can come from sources other than the engine itself. Something come loose on the exhaust and touching the frame or body, for instance.

I would take it to a good trusted diesel mechanic. As said on turbo motors people say not to use an oiled filter; that could be the reason or not but who cares.
The ford dealer is going to want to sell you a motor job. I broke a valve spring in a 150k mile $8,000 6.2 F250 when i was out of town. Ford dealer insisted on a $7,000 motor job, after a couple conversations I was out of there with a $900 valve spring. $7 part but was just glad I got it 200 miles home and drove it another 30k miles before selling it.
So dont drive it and take it to a good mechanic. Hopefully they can patch it up and you can get your 200k out of it.
