I have a 1993 f350 4x4 dually 7.5. My trans is in limp mode I believe. I have almost checked everything except the pcm. Coil packs are working. Thinking about putting a standalone controller on. Anyone have experience with them?
I am running an original compushift to control my E40D but I am running a cummins so I need it. It works as it should .In your case you should check for codes and repair any issues. The factory controller works well in a OE setting.
If you don't know why it's in limp mode installing another controller may not fix the problem.
The ONLY way to fix this is to read the codes.
it has a solenoid 1 circuit problem. Cant remember the code right off . Trans shifts if I ground solenoids manually. Mlps , tps , relay, fuse, diode and wires to trans check out.
I didnt know how expensive they were when i posted. I will keep troubleshooting. OEM pcm would be much cheaper if that's the problem.
