Guess I'm kind of new. About two months ago I purchase a 95 F-150 XLT in awesome condition. It has the 4.9 Inline 6 and manual trans. I flew all the way to LA from MD to pick it up. It was a big gamble on my part but it really paid off even though the wife didn't care for my little adventure . She just knew it was going to be a POS, but it wasn't. No rust, really clean, no leaks, everything runs fine. I've been using it a daily driver for about 8 weeks now putting on about 100 miles a day.
I plan to start taking care of it myself but found that I really racked the miles up over the last couple of months and didn't have time to change the oil myself so I took it to my local Ford Dealer. While there they said that my coolant looked pretty bad (brown) and that I should consider replacing it soon. He also said that I should just drain it and refill it without running it or putting any sort of pressure to it because of it's age it might stir some deposits up and cause problems. Does that sound right to you all? Honestly the radator looks pretty good with no deposits visable. The guy I bought the truck from really took excellent care of it. If you're curious I paid $5,300 bucks for it...
