Sync 3 update
Hello. Just bought a 2016 f150. It has sync 3 that has never been updated currently ver 1.0. I have had zero luck updating in any way. Turned on WiFi and left it running for a while with no response. Maybe half an hour. I then tried downloading the update onto usb. Followed instructions Ect. Zero reaction from truck. I’m lost. Any ideas?

I just updated mine from Sync 3 ver. 2.2 to ver. 3.0 yesterday using the USB method. I followed the instructions on the Ford Owner site and it worked like a champ. I too thought it did not work as planned as, initially, it flashed on/off a couple of times. Then I saw a message across the top of the screen saying something to the effect - "Software Download In Progress". I actually had to take about a 30 minute trip across town and by the time I got there it was completed. Turned the truck off and then restarted and everything worked!

Update! Apparently the new Sync 3 ver. 3.0 update did not include everything as advertised. For example - I did not get the Waze app as stated in the download notice I received from Ford.
Gonna have to research this one.
