I finally picked up a 32 gb thumb drive so I can update my Sync to version 3.0. Now when I log into ford.com and try to get anywhere, I just get the tool bar and "disclosures" and it won't show me anything on the page. I have logged out, rebooted, cleared cache and I can't get to the download page. Anybody else experience this? I am using an iMac. I have not had any problems in the past so not sure what is going on. Currently on a 1 hour hold time for a "guide" to call me back. Wondering if it is a Safari thing since that is my browser.

Thanks!
Are you sure the Ford "Owner".com website it up and running properly?
Unless something has changed since I downloaded the 3.0 update file, Ford.com is not where one will find said file to download.
I just switched to the Safari browser and logged onto the Ford Owner website without any problems at all so maybe you can try agin.
I also did the 3.0 a few weeks ago and like you, I used my iMac but for full disclosure, I have also have Chrome running on my iMac so that`s the browser I used for the 3.0 update and I also downloaded from the Mac app store, another Zip file extractor/expander because the one built into the iMac gave me all kinds of problems.
If you`re interested in downloading this app just let me know and i`ll give you the name of it in the Mac App store and yes, it`s totally free.
This is crazy. I downloaded Chrome because I couldn't get Safari to work on the site. I had to convert my thumb drive to Exfat from the Fat 32 like required. I also had to download the Stuffit Expander from the app store because the default one didn't do the job correctly, but after 1 1/2 hours on the phone with Ford Sync guide we never got it to work. For some reason, it doesn't appear that the files are actually unzipped because they still show the "zipper" on them when you open it. The screen in the truck showed it indexing for a second and then never came back with any prompts suggesting it was working. The guide finally gave up and suggested I find someone with a PC to try again.

Very strange.
The extractor I used from the Mac App store is called Extractor Unarchiver. It should be the first one that comes up in the search if you type in the word "Extractor". It`s icon is a bright/deep green folder with a zipper on it and it works perfectly.
It sounds like after you downloaded the files to your desktop, you didn`t actually drag it into the Extractor to open/unzip them before then dragging them into your USB thumb drive.
It does and will work on your Mac but I can understand if you just want to let someone with a PC do it for you.
