When the latest map update came out, NA 1.18, I went the route of getting the flash drive from Ford/SYNC supplier so i wouldn't have any problems. . I did the download and all has been good for about 2 1/2 month. Now I am getting error messages saying that installation is incomplete. The message said to call in to a Ford group. Did that and after trying to reset, the guy said he has to escalate it. Anyone else get this??

I did just do a master reset and so far, shows that it has NA 1.18 and no more error messages. I was a bit leery to do reset but we were travelling yesterday and figured might as well do it and see what happens.
If the install was 2.5 months ago, why is it trying to do another install? Do you have the USB drive still plugged in and if so, does it still have the install files on it?

Glad to hear that everything seems back to normal for you and the SYNC 3 system.
Also, no worries about doing the soft or master reset because neither of these actions will erase anything that was downloaded such as the updated maps from your USB stick.

That was the odd thing. USB drive was not in and started getting the error out of the blue. So far, after Master Reset, all is good. I was hoping Ford could tell me why it did it.
Sounds like it's possessed. Better call in a priest if it comes back.
When it comes to software related issues, I don't see how dealerships are diagnosing them, let alone fixing them without simply replacing entire systems. I'm a software developer and it's hard enough fixing my own code, let alone someone else's code.
My dealer, which really is great, said I’d have to follow the instructions to call. Said they would also. I’ll hope for the best that this is my biggest problem.
