Random wires on drivers side HELP

I just changed all 8 glow plugs, wiring harness, and control module. While I was in there I found what looks to be some type of sensor not connected to anything, and a 6 prong wiring connector with no wiring coming in to it. I have no check engine light and I have a programmer to read codes even if there was. The only thing that doesn’t work on my truck is my cab clearance lights, which I doubt either of these go to. There’s also 4 wires that are cut that lead into the cab of the truck which I have no idea what they are for either. Any suggestions or anyone know what these are for?

Some of the 05 models didn't have a MAF sensor.

The 6 prong thing looks like the MAF sensor plug, which on my 05 is on the intake tube. I have no idea what the sensor that’s on the other side of it is, with the plastic protecting what looks like a probe.

The thing #3 is pointing to

The cut wires seem to be on most trucks, I want to say they had something to do with the optional accessory switches? But I could be totally wrong on that. I just know I have those wires on my 05 Excursion, too...and have seen them on several other trucks.

The four wires going inside the cab are probably the stub ends for the upfitter (adding accessories like a winch, or aux tank pump) switches on your dash, if you have that option. If you don't, there're still there in the harness.

Never seen the other two, but one does look like a MAF sensor.

Awesome thanks for the help everyone! This is my second 6.0l but I never noticed those 2 random sensors/probes/ whatever they are haha. I thought it might be a MAF sensor since that’s the only 6 wiring connector I can find in the manual. I won’t worry about it too much.

The pass-through wires are different from the upfitter switch wires.

The pass-through wires are just there as a convenience for adding on accessories. They are not connected to anything on either end.

Aaah, thanks, Mark. I knew they were for accessories and just assumed they went to the upfitters. Do the upfitters have any wiring pre-installed?

There is wiring with the upfitter switches - it comes as a complete kit. I connected the upfitter outputs to the through cables so power goes directly through the firewall.

If they haven't been moved, you will find the other ends just above the emergency brake slightly towards the steering column.

Also by the parking brake you will find the BCP (Battery Charge Protect) and the PTO (Power Take Off) controls that can be used as a high idle.

Use the search tool in advanced. You want to look for High Idle Mod. You can find a lot of the use of the capped wires down by the parking brake.

As already mentioned above, the six wire cavity connector is for the MAF sensor on trucks so equipped. The other sensor is your IAT #1 sensor, on your late-build 2005 model year 6.0 F-Series (early-build 2005 model year 6.0s do have a MAF with IAT #1 incorporated into the MAF). As far as why it's sitting in the engine compartment free, is subject to speculation that you either have an aftermarket air intake with no place for it go, and/or someone had the air intake removed for whatever reason, and simply forgot to reinstall it.
