Nice! Mine is up for a refresh here pretty soon.....unless I go T4 come tax time...
Not sure if you've ever rebuilt a turbo before (I hadnt) bit it was super easy. It took longer to clean it up and get the old RTV that someone put on it instead of an o ring off of the housing. Then I had to pull all of the brass bristles out of my arm that came out of the wheel haha. I soaked the new parts in oil overnight so it could work into the holes. All in all it was super easy, and mine was definitely worse out.
Sounds good, I'll ditch the heater then! One less part to buy!
I'm ready to put it in and fire it up. I want to hear it run. I'm thinking about pulling the fender to put it back in. I had to flatten the tires to get the old one out in order to clear the core support. And that motor was missing a head. This one will be heavier, so not sure I want to lift it that high

I have not. None of my 7.3s or the ones I worked on for my boss ever needed it....but that's about to change since I will be refreshing mine here in a few weeks. Glad I have those who have gone before me LOL....I am guessing it's pretty easy. I have pulled a ton of them, but not rebuilt.
Pulling it is the hardest part. It wouldnt have been fun on the truck. If you have that down good you'll have no problem rebuilding it. Are you doing the ebpv and pedestal delete?

I would be if I did not have an exhaust brake. That thing is worth its weight to me, so it's gonna stay. If I was getting rid of it, a T4 would be in order no question.
After a lot of work and a bunch of parts, shes ready to go back in! Got it off the stand today to put the flexplate on, and my neighbor is coming tomorrow with his bobcat to drop it i .

FWIW, OBS TP38 turbos never came with a housing gasket, the factory use sealant.
