I was only worried about it being that I have a manual. I can just see myself bouncing thru pasture or a ditch with the wheels turned, wot, and pow. If you have an auto, I wouldn't be worried at all. TC will absorb the torque and shock to the drivetrain.

The project is looking good!! I just read about your struggle with track bar. I save that for last and with tires back on the ground, have a helper turn steering wheel until bolt lines up.
So I haven't had any help this whole time for the most part. My son grabs me tools sometimes and my wife kinda helps if I really need it. It's been pretty cold and windy here the last month, so I didn't bother to ask the wife for help on the white truck. The blue one I thought I would do it differently. In my finite wisdom, I thought "Oh since I had such a hard time with the lower bolt last time, I'll do that one first." Yea didn't work like that. I figured I could leave the track bar bracket loose and put both bolts in, and it would line up and pull over when I tightened down those bolts. Yea, no. So I had my wife help and turn the wheel for me, then the pitman arm was in the way. Ugh. The bolt can only go in thru the front or the arm will hit it. So I discovered my bottle jack handle is the same diameter as the bolt. So with the wheel turned, I put the jack handle in the back side to hold the track bar. Then straightened the wheel and slid the bolt in as far as it would go. Tapped it in with a hammer. Worked perfect. I'm pretty happy about this truck so far. Still lots of little things I want to do. Adjust the doors, fix the tail lights to get my reverse lamps back, adjust the hood, add an antenna (it broke off when the truck was layed over), and lots more little things. I think my next big thing is rhino line my rack and toolbox and get it back on.

Thanks, and yes I do! I always hate how I can't use the available down low torque with an auto. Downshifting when it's unnecessary is annoying.

Well I guess it's been a year since I last updated. The truck is running great and is about to be back on daily driver duty. I sold my commuter to fund my T/A. I just recieved my order from RiffRaff with a Hydra and their billet wheel, along with a few accessories for the boost and fuel pressure guage. I'll take a more recent picture tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip. I'm not sure that I will be taking the turbo out just yet. The deciding factor will be if and how bad the o rings are leaking on the pedestal.

If you’re adding the billet wheel the turbo needs to come off. I was told by every supplier I spoke to not to use the shortcut method of an impact. Just a heads up.

Got more progress done over the last couple days. I did end up pulling the turbo due to the pedestal leaking at the ebpv actuator. I opted to leave the up pipes alone. They arent leaking at the moment. I put the RiffRaff 4/4 wheel in and also gutted the pedestal and outlet. I didn't do the traditional 20mm freeze plug in the hole where the butterfly was. I got a bolt from my bolt bin and just ran some loctite and a lock washer. It might leak a little, but not enough to do bother. It may not leak at all. Got the turbo back on and new orings all around. Also took off the fuel bowl and cleaned it out. Pretty nasty, and still is, but its alot better than it was. I also pulled the pcm last night installed the hydra. I'm doing things that I can do inside later at night after I get my son to bed. The days have been warm and calm for the most part. Almost want to push the thing outside and work in the sun lol.

So list of things things done so far during this down time:
R&R HPOP reservoir gasket and upper oring
R&R fuel bowl
Foil delete and clean both IC pipes and boots
CCV mod
Hydra
Billet wheel
EBPV gut at the pedestal and outlet and new orings
AIH delete
Oil change
Clean as much of everything that I can.

Items on the agenda for the next couple days:
Ujoints
Center support bearing or carrier bearing (whichever you prefer to call it)
Reassemble the rest, starting with the Spider.
Check for leaks (praying I got most/all of the oil leaks)
Install pillar guages

My unconventional butterfly delete.
