Question for wiring gurus!
So I’ve been chasing this problem for a while now. 2006 F250 6.0. I disabled the “key in/door open” chime because it was going off all the time. I took the little connector off (the one inside the column right by the key barrel) and covered it with tape. That worked for a while. I was also was getting a nuisance “door ajar” indication to which I opted to replace all of the door switches since they are cheap and easy to replace. It did not work though. And now the problem is getting worse. I’m getting the key chime again even with it disabled. Only way to stop it is to pull the fuse.
So I got Forscan and it indicates as follows:
Drivers door ajar
Front Passenger door ajar
Key in
None of which are true. My guess is that I have a short somewhere but not sure where. Anybody have any ideas?
