Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and have been looking to see if anyone else had this problem and have not found anything. I have a 98 F250LD the problem I'm having is that my door dings when open and no key in the ingintion. It only stops if I put the key in and turn it to run. If anyone could help or at least point me in the right direction I'd be very happy.
Unless someone has been fooling with the wiring the dinging should be triggered only when the headlights are on and drivers door opened. Key left in ignition should trigger another sound, perhaps a persistent buzz until door is closed or keys removed?
It might be a good idea to check the door jamb switch, a shot of WD40 into it is said to sometimes work to cure this sort of thing. Failing that might be time to invest in a factory EVTM and start looking for wiring issues.
