I raise a glass to you, brother. This is the exact point I have been drilling into the minds of my two sons (17 and 11). You make your own luck and success is only found through hard work and caring about the work that you are doing, no matter what it is.

-At 49K miles, I had the upper oil pan leak, which once again reguired cab off and repair.
-At 50.5K miles, after getting the check engine warning light, my truck is in the shop for a number of days to have the DEF pump and tank replaced.
#1 is not common for the later model 6.7. You just got lucky here.
#2 I had the same leak fixed at 25k, it started leaking at 10k. This appears to be an issue for the 15+ trucks only. Why in the world did they pull the cab? They have to pull the transmission and possibly the grill. A cab off repair is for easier access to the top of the engine. I also had a water pump replaced at the same time, which is also becoming more and more popular with the 15+ trucks.
#3 this is a common failure and you are at the exact mileage it happens, just outside of warranty.

We haven't seen leaking radiators in the 15+ trucks here on the forums. It might be due to the omission of the upper bolt on the drivers side.

Yes, CAC pipe will be next, it's best to replace it with an aftermarket part.

With all due respect, I have always taken meticulous care of my vehicles and possessions. My query was for issues experienced in spite of taking care of the truck.

My '13 has had some issues, but no brand is much better than any other. With the 4WD front end, none of the designers are specifying heavy duty enough components for long term reliability. My '00 has many of the same issues (ball joints and front end components). The 6.7 is a really good motor that's hampered by what I consider 70's emissions. The early 70's cars had terrible emissions systems on them and all had problems. By the 80's, the systems were somewhat reliable and now, you don't even think about them. That's what the diesels are having to go through now. Many components failing very early in their life cycle, leaving the factory (when under warranty) or the owner with ridiculous repair costs. Unfortunately, if history repeats, it will be 10 years before we really see much in improvements in the reliability of those systems. I've had 2 of the 4 exhaust sensors fail and the def heater fail, all in less than 70k miles. That's unacceptable, considering these failures can leave you stranded and requiring a tow. But until the technology gets good enough, that's what we've got.

Worse, because you're relying on electronics with unknown life spans, no amount of maintenance short of routinely replacing components will prevent the failures. That's an unacceptable situation for either the owners or the factories.
