I've got 50.5K miles in 2.5 years since I bought my 2016 F350 Diesel truck new. I love the truck, except that in that time period I've had the following issues:
-At 22K miles, I had the valve clanking issue during exhause filter regen. Cab off, 4 valves replaced, software updated.
-At 49K miles, I had the upper oil pan leak, which once again reguired cab off and repair.
-At 50.5K miles, after getting the check engine warning light, my truck is in the shop for a number of days to have the DEF pump and tank replaced.
So that's almost 3 weeks my truck was out of service.
The first two items were covered under Ford's powertrain warranty, and the DEF tank issue is covered by my extended warranty, except that I have to fork over $250 for deductable, diagnosis, and new DEF. I'm a reasonable person, but at this point I'm wondering what's going to happen next? And frankly, I'm thinking that when my extended warranty terminates at 100K miles, I may consider buying a RAM 3500 instead. I use the truck to tow my fifth wheel as well as my daily driver. I'd be interested in the experiences of others.
Primary Radiator... yep ... Not covered under the drive-train warranty. $1,300-1,500

Drive by the Dodge service area and count the trucks and cars.
Drive by the Chevy service area and count the trucks and cars.
They all have problems.
It would be very nice to know what are the common failures.
In the 6.0L, we do a few that are common.
Take a look at the below common 6.0L Diesel issues.
I had an 06' F350 6.0L. Things to watch for are: Bed Pan, Injectors (Keep the oil very clean since it pressurizes the injectors), Turbo, EGR, Engine seals, ball joints and many more.
Just for starters because I can't remember them all... I had the following problems...
Gas Tank sensor (replaced), rear sliding window (replaced), Instrument Cluster (replaced), Fan Blower resistor (replaced), Turbo (replaced with better version), EGR valve and cooler (replaced 3 times), Ball joints (replaced at 60,000 miles).
At 115,000 miles, Ford wanted to pull the engine and replace all or many seals (Cost $2,500.00). They also suspected other things but wouldn't know for sure until they pulled the engine. Out the door estimate: $5,000.00
MPG: 13-15 city, 18-20 highway @ approx 60 mph
New truck: 2016 F450 6.7L 46k miles problems..... All four axle wheel seals replaced and looks like the Power Steering pump is going. That's it.....
I know there are other issues, but I cannot remember them all.

The biggest common problem with ALL brands...........I N T E R N E T!!!!!!!!!! It has likely ruined more good trucks than anything!!!!! LOL!
Forums are an excellent way to communicate product problems whether they be truck or coffee makers.
Of course manufactures do not like having their issues reported and publicized. They would rather keep anything under the rug that provides the public with information.
I like to see vehicle ratings and reviews along with many other products the consumer is buying.
2011 250SD 2WD Lariat Crew 6.7l 3:31 axle with 98000 miles so far and NO issues. June 2010 build. Regular maintenance by local independent Powerstroke certified master mechanic. Fully deleted and tuner added (SCT with only very mild tow tune) at 80k after multiple and regular codes repeatedly thrown for EGR. Otherwise bone stock. Pull 10,000 lb camper on 9-10 trips per year throughout the SE and it's my daily driver. Defying the odds by taking care of it and not beating it up. No DEF issues even before delete, 24mpg highway empty and 13-14mpg pulling the camper. Never any coal. Love the truck.
