The 1996 engine has a different intake system that uses a MAF sensor and it also is a sequential injection engine meaning the wire harness is different.
It also has more O2 sensors in different locations.
The best way to make the swap is to use the intake and exhaust manifolds from your 1992 engine and basically swap over as many bolt on items from the 92 engine that looks different than the 96 engine.
