OBS engine swap

Hello, I did a engine swap and put a 96 f150 351w into a 95 f150. I couldn't figure out why it wanted to stall when ever I gave it a little gas.
I finally narrowed it down to the act sensor. when I unplug it I get the check engine light, but the truck runs smooth. The 96 351w
didn't have this sensor but since the 95 was wired for it I put it in. my question is, is the sensor bad? or should I put the plug back in and leave the wire
plugged into the sensor and just let it lay on the engine?

You didn't use any wiring from the '96 truck right?

When you unplug the ACT sensor the computer runs in open loop, that is why it runs smoother. The '96 does have this sensor it's just in a different place... airbox instead of the lower intake, but you can't move it there as it will still report the wrong temperatures same as it is doing now. To fix this problem permanently the sensor must be installed in the motor which means drilling and tapping a spot for it or swapping on the lower intake from the other motor.
