I have a 2000 F150 4WD with the 4.6L. Does any one know if a 4.6 motor from a 2003 model will simply swap into place. More or less I would like to know if there would be any electrical/computer/harness issues. I would have access to the new harness and comp. if needed but prefer to use the existing. Is this a simple possibility?
Your 2000 model is likely a non-PI engine, and the 2003 is a PI engine. The differences are cylinder heads and intake manifold port shapes, and a few other minor differences that are really a non-issue. You may have to find a flexplate for the trans(some engines have an 8 bolt crank, some have 6 bolts), maybe have to swap exhaust manifolds and swap over a few sensors from your engine to the '03 model, but it should be relatively simple changeover.

Johnny Langton is right, it should be a simple swap. You might have to use a few parts from your old engine intake manifold but everything else should be the same.
I use plastic sandwich bags for the nuts and bolts I remove as i do a job. I label each bag as to what the contents are, bellhousing bolts, exhaust bolts, intake bolts, etc. It makes it a lot easier to put it back together. And more enjoyable too. Dan
