Tailgate. For those who know

My 98 built, 99 year model f250 has seen plenty of work in it life, and the tailgate took a lot of that on full force. After reading about how the wind shield has been the same for 20 years..... anyone able to tell me just how many years i can use to replace this tailgate?

99-07 fit. After that (08-09) the DS hinge needs to be replaced. Oh and the 99-07 f150 tailgate fits too.

Ok sweet. Thats a huge option increase from 99 to 03 f 250 only

Yeah my Dually came with a F150 tailgate, badge still on it. I’ve been asked several times if Ford really made a F150 Dually …of course I say Yes! It was a special edition!

This is funny. Yesterday I saw what looked to be a 97/98 F150 single cab with a 05+ super duty tail gate on it lol.

what needs to happen to the drivers side hinge? Is it a big deal or a bolt off bolt on swap?

the hinge is different. It’s a slot with a plastic bushing rather than the round peg round hole.

if you want a straight swap the years mentioned will work. The F150 tailgate will work too. You’ll nee to swap the emblem unless you don’t care about the tailgate F150 badge
