need some measurements
For the distance between the pivot points for the tailgate on a 250 or 350, 99-07. That is the distance from face to face. Also the measurement on the tailgate side, outside edge bracket to bracket.
I have a 99 f250 SD that needs a tailgate. I was told by the local scrap yard that certain year f150 tailgates would fit. So I found a tailgate from a 2001 f150. While it does physically fit in place, latches, opens and closes it has one problem. The pivot points at the bottom seem to be spaced apart too far. Meaning if the tailgate is not perfectly placed or aligned between the pivot points on the bed the tailgate falls off on one side. While I could make say a quart inch spacer on each side for the pivot points I am skeptical of this interchange that a f150 tailgate actually fits. Either that or my truck is tweaked and something is off.

just got home and looking at....
my measurements I wrote down I have 62 7/16" from face to face. That is a bit of a difference wonder if we are measuring in the same place? Course on the bedside doesnt make much sense as I am measuring more than you and the datums I used were the closest points. I better go remeasure tomorrow.
