You will find that, just like when painting, a little masking tape goes a long way towards keeping the adhesive off the areas that are not intended to be bonded. If you wet your finger before you smooth over the adhesive then your finger will not stick and the surface will be smoother. Panel bond is stronger than seam sealer. Panel bond takes longer to cure than seam sealer. Panel bond will flow out as it cures resulting in a high gloss finish...will also drip if not contained. Panel bond is harder when cured. I personally have never used seam sealer to bond panels, that said, I would think that in this application it should work just fine.

I didn't explain that very well....

I'm considering using panel bond in lieu of seam sealer on the rest of the truck. My only concern was that it may not be flexible enough...

I would stick with seam sealer . Panel bond is not designed to be thick and any that I have used is far too runny to stay in place .
