I need lights.

I love the truck so far but I find the headlights to be quite insufficient. I've searched the forum briefly and seen some complaints about the headlamps. I'm trying to decide between options. I'd like to hear from those of you who've added aftermarket lights. Anyone have a light bar on their Super Duty?

Thanks in advance.

Look up low budget led on this site. Lots of people using beam tech light bulbs. Light bars are noe sae approved for road use if that concerns you. I personally despise it when people use those on road. They make sae approved fog lights to add. Rigid, baja designs, and rough country make some. I will be doing the beamtech soon along with some baja designs fogs. My truck did not come with fog lights.

Thanks ncl, I'll take a look at that thread. I understand and share your concern about light bars on the road. I live in a very rural area where I'm unlikely to encounter much traffic. I don't want to do much modding to oem components so something bolt on was attractive from that perspective.

Agree with @ncl have a look at some of the bulbs that others are using. One thing I will mention is 'buyer beware' when it comes to aftermarket lights just to start. What I mean by that is you will find sets of $400+ LED Headlights (for 4 replacement headlights) that are the exact same thing as others for sale for $40.

I've been through this LED light buying process myself with another vehicle I owned. I was looking for LED quality Turn Signals for the front, so Amber in color, which could be both used as normal parking lights as well as actual turn signals. I found sets (2 bulbs) for $80+ and then others for $15 a set. Bought both sets to test on vehicle and not only did the $15 set look and work better (cleaner, brighter amber light) but the overall construction quality of the bulbs themselves were the same if not in some cases better than the more expensive $80+ bulbs.

I've had these bulbs on my other vehicle now since 2013 and they are still performing as well as they day I bought them! With the money I saved, I figured if these bulbs didn't last that long, I could always buy another set and still be way ahead of the $80 bulbs.

Just my .02 cents on this................. :-)

I will be mounting the fog lights on either side of the tow hooks like in 99-16 models. Then wire them up to my upfitter switches. I live in rural area as well. Believe it or not I usually see the light bars running down i75 in Ohio. Smh. I mean it's cool to use them just some people dont shut them down when they should.

Aftermarket LED bulbs in the stock housings just scatter the light and blind oncoming traffic.

I also drive rural roads, and chose to use a lightbar. The output makes it seem like you are driving in daylight...

I drive too many back roads hauling horses too and from camping. Even with the LED headlights I wanted more light on a dark night to black angus cow crossing the road.

With the ACC little radar box below the bumper it limited what I could use. On my 2015 truck I put a 20" LED light bar under the bumper.
On my 2017 I don't have room, So I bought a 12" LED bar but got one with 5 watt leds vs the normal 3 watt. I get almost the same Lumins out of the 12" as I would out of a 20" 3 watt.

I never turn on the LED bar in town. It's strictly for out in the mountains.

If you're wanting to keep the OEM bumper, there are a few options.

1. Upgraded Fog Light Mounts than can hold 2 cubes. We can do Rigid D-Series, D-XL Series, or Baja Designs Squadrons
2. 10" Light Bar if equipped with ACC
2a. Relocate ACC behind the grille and run a 20", 30", or 40" light bar in the lower grille opening
3. If not equipped with ACC, all the same options above will work.
4. Depending on the trim of your truck, Rigid offers a 6" light bar kit that will fit in you upper grille.
5. Lights mounted on your hood mounts at the base of your A-pillars where they meet the hood. I've got a pair of Baja Designs XL80 on our shop truck.

Happy to go over other options with you as well. Please let me know if we can help!

I too was disappointed with the headlights in my '19 F350. I have the sport appearance package so the headlights were slightly tinted from the factory and I liked the look of them so I went with the recommended LED bulbs from the "budget LED" thread. I did the BEAMTECH H13's with 9005 BEAMTECH LED's in the fog lights. 100 time better than stock and with the 9005's in the fog lights they produce actual usable light. I was into the 2 sets of H13's, the 9005's for the fogs, LED's for the license plate and back up light about 150 bucks.

I did the Beamtech headlights long ago. Nice upgrade for not a lot of money. This past weekend I installed some 9005 yellow LEDs into the fogs. I have yet to take the truck out after dark to report on those.

Did the same a month after getting the truck. After researching for a few months now I ordered the LASFIT switchbacks for the fogs. Have the Beamtechs in now but with the snow coming, I wanted to be able to go to the amber as needed. Will do the install when I get home tomorrow and get some pics up asap...

Whatever you do, stay away from Headlight Revolution

I just switched from Headlight Revolution V4’s to BeamTech.
I had a bunch of issues from HR. And terrible customer service.

HR bulbs-$600 for all 6 bulbs.
Beamtech-$125 for all 6.

From my experience, both bulbs look almost exactly the same. I swapped out one side of my truck and did a comparison. I couldn’t tell a difference. Also pulled up to my white garage door, beam patter looked the same.

I would recommend the Beamtech’s
