Hello, working on a 1964 F250 cab. Passenger side lower door hinge did not seem to be attached to anything any more. Upon further investigation, I found out the lower door hinge was in fact not attached to anything anymore. The inner vertical piece inside the A pillar is rusted away. And, the hinge half that attaches to said piece is rusted apart. I can replace the steel panel in there. But I will need a replacement hinge half. Anyone know where I can score one? Not the half that's inside the door, the half that attaches to the a-pillar? Thanks for any advice.
In order to replace the backup piece and cage, you will have to cut into the kick panel. Replacement hinges are reproduced and “imported” or you can probably find an original here on FTE, junkyard or eBay. There will be no hinge half....you will get the whole thing.

Less $$ than repro’s. Although, at near 65 years old, I doubt that they are free of wobble....at 65 years old, I’m certainly not free of wobble.
The slick doors are not heavy or long so most of my hinges are in good shape. You can usually get re bushing kits for them. The only hinges I lost were in April 2018 after the snow started melting and then we had a three day deep freeze. It broke both my drivers door hinges in half on my parts truck
I had the passenger side door that wasn't really swinging open and shut right. The kick panel looks like it was busted out (and rusted out. And I could see the part of the a-pillar below the lower hinge was going to need to be replaced. I had no idea there was a vertical wall inside there that the hinge attached to as well. Probably because it wasn't there any more (rust). So I ended up taking the door off and now I have that whole a-pillar and lower part of the cowl cut up like a Christmas turkey. I went and bought some 16 gage sheet metal and made some templates out of manila folder. Transferred the patterns over to the sheet metal, and then cut them out with the plasma cutter (what a time saver!). I have a lot of cleaning up, grinding and prep work to do. I'm not going to weld much together until I have another lower hinge to mock into place, so I will know all the bolt holes are in the right place. Then a bunch of welding, and more grinding to get it looking passable. Not after a concours resto, just want a solid cab. :-) Then there's the cab mount stiffener under there, the floor pans, and lets not forget our friends the cab corners!
