I heard that klinking sound when I opened the drivers door, I first thought it was a wrench falling into the fender or something, but soon realized it was the door stopper broke on the hinge. does anyone know what is involved in fixing it? it's a 87. It hurts when the door slams shut on your leg
Assuming you are not talking about the striker pin, you will probably will have to replace the door hinge. I took mine off with out removing the fender with wobble socket 13 mm and I believe a 13mm end wrench I had to use on one..
You can probably find one at a salvage yard on a truck same color as yours.
That way you wont need it painted. It will stand out like a sore LEG caught in the door if not painted.
Place all extremeties inside the cab before closing the door.
Hope this helps
have a good day
