I need some help... im using an sct x4 and purchased 5 delete tune level 1 through 5 and loaded them on my 2012 f350 without removing anything or disconnecting anything and hav Been running level 5 for 3wks. When I got the new def pump I returned to stock, installed it and ran stock for a few days. Def issue was solved for codes but filter plugged codes now, and get her codes now. Loaded level 5. All codes gone and ran as level 5 ran great. As I was getting ready to remove the pipes, I disconnected all exhaust sensors ONLY. started truck and it fire but low idle code and stalled. Then it was no crank. Once I reconnected all sensors and fiddled with relays it cranked and started fine. That was with tune loaded.
Then I reverted back to stock. Started fine. Then disconnected everything again, then loaded level 5, started once and ran fine. Revved a few times. Turned off, then was back to a no crank/no start situation.
then I reconnected all the sensors again and again fired up and ran fine.
Should I be disconnecting other items or just exhaust sensors to pull it out?
anyone have a similar experience? And anyone have any help advice?
You haven't done enough research before messing with very expensive equipment.
1. You can't run delete tunes and keep the DPF.
2. Remove the entire DPF and install a race pipe.
3. You need to be on level 1 instead of 5. You need to understand what else is involved for you to use level 5.
4. Stop switching between delete files and stock files. You have to commit.
Thanks for the speedy reply deuce. I’ve been running the sct for 4yrs. I know what’s involved and what they put out when running non delete tunes, and I had a custom tune done for the truck and was told to switch the pipe as soon as I got it. I have the race pipe. Etc etc etc. However There’s no point to put it on if the system won’t crank is now is there? If it won’t crank it just won’t crank. I tried it on level one as well and had the same result.
I’m looking for help of if anyone else had this similar issue using sct x4, and what was done to resolve it if they did?

You loaded delete tunes and ran the truck for 3 weeks with the DPF in place. That means it's clogged and may be the reason why the truck won't run. There's too much back pressure. I recommend committing to a full delete, and that includes removing the sensors and putting in the race pipe. I still can't fathom why you didn't install the race pipe when you switched to delete tunes. No one has ever said that's a good idea. Until you remove the DPF, it's anyone's guess as to what's wrong.
Again, your truck isn't set up to run level 5 correctly. You need more air, free exhaust, and likely more fuel. Start with level 1 before you mess anything else up.
Thanks deuce. All is resolved. Had the tuner review the issue and got an updated tune. Everything as it should be now. To add information for future readers, yes I realize that the system is clogged, but it ran super, clogged, with all the sensors plugged in and the delete tune loaded. Therefore it should run super once unplugged. It did not. So after reviewing the issue with my tuner he was able to isolate the issue. Hence a revised tune (as something was not compatible with the previous tune). Also, if the sensors are unplugged before loading the delete tune, the truck goes into reduced power mode, and that STAYS with the truck once loaded which is why I had no revs on first start up, and also why it had no crank on second start up(or lack of start up). If you see reduced power on dash display during tune load you can anticipate the same type of issue, it will be locked in reduced power after tune is loaded.
hope this helps another when they run into the same type of issue and need assistance.
stock pipes are down. Onto the install of new mbrp.
being the long weekend in Canada thanksgiving, and able to have the tuner review and update tune On a dime is an awesome service. Much appreciated and above and beyond service!!
2012 6.7 not 2010 5.4. Different system not fired by diesel like the 2010’s. And with the delete tune it will not go into regen, and I stay out of fields😉
