ok i had my evolution on extreme setting today and just for kicks i decided to check the codes while i was driving down the road. the truck wasn't driving any different so i was betting on no codes. well i got 2. one was the IAT circuit high. and the other was something having to do with a KAM error. so i cleared them and continued on. i checked the codes again about 10 minutes later and got the IAT circuit high code again, and i again cleared it. then i decided to try a 1/4 run just for giggles and afterward i checked the codes again and i got a P1165 and a P130B. it said that it could not identify the codes. any ideas? why is it setting so many codes?
Sorry. I don't have a listing for those codes. Are you sure you got a P130B? Should that be P1308? I don't have that one either, but a P1309 would be "Misfire Detection Monitor not enabled"; don't know if that helps. Probably not.
i couldn't find any listings for either of those either. i couldn't find either of the unknown codes so i'm not really all that worried about it. i pulled them with the evolution so for all i know, they could just be false codes or something. truck is still running awesome!!!!
KAM is Keep Alive Memory, no big deal, happens all the time. A chip will cause it or disconnecting the batteries.
As for the other codes, your scanner/programmer is a little goofy.
Try returning the truck to stock and then scan it.
Were you scanning with the truck moving? Try a KOEO scan instead of a KOER.
P1168 FRP Sensor In Range But Low (Fuel Rail Pressure), You don't have one.
P1308 A/c (air conditioning) clutch circuit fault. This is possible, does your AC work?
yes i was scanning it while i was driving. my A/C blows, but it does not blow cool. could that code be the cause of my A/C not blowing cold??? i had it recharged, but it blew cold for like 2 days and then started blowing warm again. i was just scanning it while i drove to see if anything would pop up after gunning it a few times. LoL. what is the deal with the IAT high code???
You have a 'poor boy's intake' aka 6637 or something like that, right? What did you do with the IAT if you ditched the stock air box? If it's boucing around under the hood it may set a code IDK. I have mine tied up to the fender but it's still in the incoming air stream.
The AC code shouldn't be the clutch since it worked right after you charged the system. It's more likely that you have a freon leak IMO.
yeah i have the sensor bouncing around the fender. LoL. well, at least nothing is wrong with my truck. that would surely be a crisis. LoL. here is one more question... we put this evolution on my buddy's '00 super duty and it set the overboost code and a ICP higher than desired code. mine doesn't set any overboost codes or ICP codes. why would his set these codes, but mine doesn't?
i'm not sure about clearing the codes by disconnecting the batteries, but i use my programmer to clear them.
