Transmission is from an 03 sport trac and I plan on using it in my 99 Ranger. I know have to change the MPLS and the rearmost plug I don't need to use (trans will function as a 4 speed only)
The blue plug for the valve body solenoids is the same, so good there.
What is the two wire green plug? I have found several people that have done this but no reference to the green plug or what it's for. I'm guessing a temp sensor but that's just a guess. *edit* it's the ISS sensor
An update to this:
I changed the bell housing from 4.0L to 3.0L and installed it in a 1999 Ranger. It used two of the plugs ( green plug and the black at the upper right weren't used) It works as it normally would with no issues yet.
edit: I changed the neutral switch to the older style as well.
