I've got a 2000 f250, and as you all know, they don't much care for generic scanners. What's a good quality Bluetooth plug in so I can download the app on my phone to read codes and look at my real time data? I remember seeing where someone had posted an Amazon link, but now I can't find it.
OBD2MX was my choice, if you visit the Forscan website it lists what modules work. Some of the cheaper clones will work with Torque pro but often with limited functionality. Personally I use TP for monitoring & gauges & Forscan for diagnostics. I've recently got the Windows version of Forscan for my laptop, I haven't yet tried it on my 7.3 but I have used it on my Transit van & it's very good.

Thanks a bunch! So if I wanted to show guages on my Android radio, I'll need torque pro, but if I want to look at my diagnostic codes I'll need forscan? I don't mind buying both apps, but is there a Bluetooth module that works with both so I can just swap apps and not have to switch modules and reconnect each time I want to change functions?
Sorry, perhaps I didn't quite phrase it correctly, the OBD2MX works fine with both apps, but Torque will function partially with some of the clones. I can't comment on using an android radio for displaying gauges as I have an old tablet or my phone for this.
Just using my phone was my original plan, but then I discovered Android radios. Basically a tablet scaled down to fit in a double din radio slot. $200 to have wifi connection capabilities, navigation, back up camera compliant. I'll lose the ability to play CDs, but I haven't used a CD in years so no great loss there.

Ha ha, I "upgraded" my double din just before the android stuff became the must have head unit, I can still use CD's although I don't think I've actually used that facility lol!
I kninda feel like I'm basically getting an Edge CTS2 with a bigger screen that plays music and navs me for less than half price. I looked at the edge, but where do you mount a big touch screen rig where it's not in the way?? I like the idea of having everything all in one place. I'm looking at $305 for the Android radio, backup camera and the obd2mx plugin. Is this the one you have? Says it works with both forscan and torquepro

That's the one, they've come down in price since I got mine a few years ago. As said, have a good read through Tugly's post
In addition to your Scan Tool selection, there is a wealth of information on PID's and what to know under the Misc Information section in the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder located at the link below.
And if you're using an Android head unit, make sure it lets you install regular Android apps. I don't have one, but I have some older Android tablets that restrict which apps you can install from the Play Store. If you can get into the admin mode generally you can install any app, but again you need that ability from the device too.
Squeak&Destroy,
That is the one I too purchased from Amazon. I also purchased an OBDII extension to allow easier access to the module, just get one long enough to make this easier.
Thanks for the input, y'all. I'm currently in the middle of a 7-12s schedule, but definitely plan to turn my attention back to my truck as soon as work will allow me to. Gotta pay for parts, right!
